This course is based on 10-years of university teaching. Such a course became  a reality only through the availability of the most user-friendly EcoNets software, a brand New Network Design Paradigm,  and a comprehensive hands-on guide to EcoNets in the form of a 1997 textbook "Network Design Using EcoNets". Our recent observations clrearly show that a student can now learn with almost no help from the teacher. If you can spare about 40 hours for e-learning and if you have the use of a modern personal computer, you can train yourself to model and design voice, data and integrated voice/data networks (i.e. VoIPs) at anytime, anywhere and at your pace (within one week, one semester or one year). Purchase of the textbook is not mandatory but it will help understand the intricate user-interface required for designing many other types of networks. Although the textbook comes with a  run-ready EcoNets software directory, one can also download the  latest version of EcoNets plus other networking and teaching tools from the website <www.econets.com> .  The EcoNets website is also useful to find answers to many common questions related to network design. After gaining this training, the student can easily model and design other types of networks discussed in the textbook.
